Create timestamp proofs to prove your documents haven't changed.

Protect your legal documents, contracts, and intellectual property with the security & integrity of the Bitcoin Blockchain.

Our team plan is designed for law firms and legal professionals.

πŸ”’ Tamper-Proof Security

Instant Detection of Document Changes

Any modification to a timestamped document is easily detectable. Mathematical proof validates document integrity. Uses millions of Bitcoin nodes to verify file integrity.

πŸ’Ύ Cloud Backups

Your Documents, Your Control

We store your data in the cloud & back it up in multiple locations. You and your clients are welcome to keep your own copies of documents AND timestamps.

βš–οΈ Court-Accepted Proof

Legal Standing in 5 States

Blockchain timestamps have been recognized in 5 US states. More states & countries are expected to recognize this standard. Provides admissible evidence that documents existed untampered since a specific date. Read more here.

How It Works

Think of it as a digital notary. Here's how we create permanent proof that your documents existed unchanged since a specific date:

1

Upload Your Document

Upload any digital file. Your file stays private and secure.

2

Create Digital Fingerprint

We create a unique digital fingerprint of your file. Identical files produce identical fingerprints; any modification produces a new one.

3

Record on Blockchain

This fingerprint is permanently recorded on Bitcoin's blockchainβ€”a tamper-proof public record (ledger) showing the exact date and time your file was stamped.

4

Verify Forever

Anyone can prove your document existed on that date and hasn't changed by comparing its current fingerprint to the blockchain. A matching fingerprint proves the document is authentic.

Real World Example

Imagine: You created & timestamped a contract on Legal Stampy 6 months ago. Today, someone claims you changed a key clause in your favor.

The proof: With Legal Stampy, you can now cryptographiclly prove that the contract existed in the exact state you stamped it at 6 months ago therefore there claim can easily be found as false. The blockchain shows your document's fingerprint was recorded today.

If someone changed even a single letter in a document, the fingerprint would be completely different, proving tampering.

Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions

We create a digital fingerprint of your file and record it on the Bitcoin blockchain using the OpenTimestamps standard. This creates permanent proof that your document existed in its exact state on a specific date and hasn't been changed since.

If someone modifies a document that was timestamped, the verification will show that the timestamp doesn't match the document, proving tampering occurred.

Our Team plan is specifically designed with law firms in mind. You can manage multiple clients, share documents & timestamps with clients, organize documents by clients, collaborate with team members, and provide timestamp proofs to your clients.

If you need assistance in deciding if this is the right service for you, you can schedule a call/demo with a representative here.

We support Brave Browser, Chrome, Safari, and Firefox.

We recommend Brave Browser mostly for its enhanced security & privacy features.

Technical Questions

No. Only a cryptographic hash (like a digital fingerprint) is stored on the Bitcoin blockchain. Your actual document/file remains private and is never uploaded to the blockchain.

No. We handle all the technical aspects. You simply upload your document and download your timestamp proof.

Your timestamp proofs will remain valid forever. OpenTimestamps is an open-source standard. Anyone can still verify your files with your timestamp proofs using a compatible tool or their own Bitcoin node, even if our service no longer exists.

If we ever shut down, we will give all of our customers ample notice to download their documents from our cloud service ahead of time.

When you stamp a file, the timestamp will be marked as "Pending" while it waits to be included in a Bitcoin block. This typically takes a few hours.

Once confirmed in a Bitcoin Block, the file will be upgraded and the status changes to "Upgraded", meaning your timestamp is now permanently recorded on the Bitcoin blockchain. Our system handles this entire process automatically for you.

In simpler terms: think of "Pending" as your timestamp being submitted, and "Upgraded" as your timestamp being permanently sealed. Once upgraded, your proof exists on the Bitcoin blockchain and can be verified independently by anyone with the Timestamp proof, even without our platform.

Legal Questions

Bitcoin timestamps have been recognized in at least 4 US states. Even in states without specific laws, cryptographic timestamps can serve as strong supporting evidence.

Yes. Timestamps provide cryptographic proof that anyone can independently verify, including court-appointed digital foresnsics experts. They demonstrate that a document existed in its exact state on a specific date and has not been altered since.

Security Questions

Yes. We use encrypted connections and secure cloud storage. Your files are never available on the public blockchain.

Only a unique fingerprint (hash) of your file is recorded on the blockchain, which is all that is needed for verification.

For extra-sensitive documents, if you feel more comfortable you can also choose to stamp a file without storing it on our platform. You keep the only copy, and we just manage & upgrade your timestamp proof for it.

We require two-factor authentication (2FA) for all accounts to ensure only authorized users can access your documents. We also use enterprise-grade encryption, secure password requirements, and monitor for suspicious activity.
